Inspired by the simplicity of everyday scenes, Deb's work takes those items to their extreme through dramatic color and exaggerated light. Living part-time in the Pacific Northwest and part-time in Southern Arizona, she’s surrounded by the natural beauty of landscapes and street scenes. Their essence rather than their details inspires her, so that is what she paints. 

 

When starting a painting, Deb focuses on an idea or perspective as she goes along. She lets the paint and colors move her. Nothing is mapped out.  She likes to create a mood, a reflection, or leave the viewer wondering. She likes there to be room for interpretation.

 

Using oils and acrylics, she paints on a variety of surfaces, including canvas, board, and Plexiglas. Deb's work currently hangs in both private and corporate collections throughout the US.
