Woven Bead Necklace with Glass Bead Pendant

Kathryn’s journey with glass started in 2000. Before 2000 her focus was fibers and surface

design to create one-of- a-kind clothing. It made for a perfect transition to glass. Her love to layer glass, metal, enamel, frit and murrini is the recipe to create unique beads. Kathryn’s passion is the color, texture and shape of beads to create unique wearable art. In 2013 Kathryn started to explore copper enameling and today many of her creations include both glass and copper.

 

All of her pieces are one of a kind, and the signature elements of Kathryn's designs include many layers of glass and metals and the inclusion of murrinis (cross sections of patterned glass canes) and other decorations.

Kathryn is an active member of the Arizona Society of Glass Beadmakers, The International Society of Glass Beadmakers, and Sonoran Arts League.

 

Kathryn’s work has been published in the winter issues and the 2014 cover of The Flow Magazine, 2014 cover of the Sonoran Arts League Hidden in the Hills catalog, the first featured cover artist of Artisan Jewelry Times January 2015 and Soda Lime Times March 2016 cover and tutorial.
