Rusted Metal Cow Skull
| For the cowboy in all of us! A perfect compliment to any western theme, this Cow Skull (15" x 23") is made of steel with hand-cut detail markings which allow us to hammer a bit of a contour into the form. The skull is welded to a hand-formed framework, two irregular rings made of 1'' wide steel. This piece hangs from a sawtooth hidden behind the horns. Stainless steel pins keep the entire piece raised away from the wall. This gives more visual depth to the piece while adding some protection from rust if hung outdoors. Finished in a a natural rust patina, suitable for outdoor use year around. |
About the Artist
We are a husband and wife team who are the sole designers and makers of this extensive body of work. Who knew when John gave Heather a welder for a birthday present that it would evolve into all this. After 20 years, we are still enjoying the process of bringing a new design to life .
We make everything at our studio on the family farm. Both of us are “tool junkies” and have kitted out our workshop with a wide variety of metal and woodworking equipment. This has allowed us to continue to expand the scope and style of work we do. From large, custom wall sculptures to easy-to-ship clocks and mirrors, to serving utensils and jewelry, we are continually adding new designs into the mix.
