About the Artist
Katherine was born and lived in New York City until her marriage took her traveling around the country. She and her husband settled in California where they raised two children. Kathy now resides in Tubac, Arizona.
She started drawing and painting at the age of 12 and was encouraged by her teachers to pursue art as a major. Her career started not in illustration as was her goal, but as a print production manager moving on to graphic design, and eventually art direction. Her interest in emerging technologies enabled her to develop a wide range of skills with the use of graphic design software. Kathy also freelanced working on location with an ad agency who handled seminars for physicians. After retiring from the world of advertising, she is now pursuing her first love: fine art. In search of her own style and technique, Kathy continued her studies by attending workshops with a variety of artists. She has explored the realistic watercolors of Robert Reynolds, the very controlled but loose Chinese watercolor painting of Lian Quan Zhen, the broad bold strokes of Dale Laitinen, than on to impressionist
